Educational/Training Pilot Program

This is a pilot program through December 31, 2025, and as long as funds are available.

Only active paid members of the Chamber are eligible to apply.

Incomplete applications will not be reviewed or processed.

Program Overview

Overview

The Black Chamber of Commerce of New Mexico is offering educational/training grants that are specific to the success of your business.

General Applicant Eligibility

The applicant must complete all required fields and upload all required documentation.

  1. Current and paid, Black Chamber Small business membership is required.
  2. Business must be registered and in good standing with the New Mexico Secretary of State.
    INCLUDE a copy of good standing certificate and certify your ability to pay your twenty-five percent (25%) obligation.
  3. Small member businesses in New Mexico are eligible for one grant and the cost cannot exceed two-thousand dollars ($2,000.00) including your twenty-five percent (25%) obligation.

Applicant Process

  1. Complete the education/training application form, providing all required information and supporting documentation.
  2. Clearly outline the education/training that you wish to take and how it aligns with the business’ growth objectives.
  3. Provide a copy of the training description along with the program details that support the amount requested, and all required documentation.
  4. Applications will be reviewed and evaluated based on eligibility criteria and alignment with your business objectives.
  5. All applicants will receive email notification.

Use of Funds

  1. Applicants must use the dollars for a certified/professional/certificate training/education program.
    • Note: Travel costs are not authorized. Education, training  must be delivered by a certified institution.

Education/Training Application Processing Time

  1. Online Application and Decisions: Anticipated review time up to two weeks.

Reporting Requirements

Grant recipients must submit a report within three months of receiving the grant detailing how the funds were spent and the impact on their business/organization. This report must include proof of expenditure and other requirements as agreed upon in the grant application.

- Decisions of the volunteer community committee are final.
- Incomplete applications will not be reviewed or considered.

Notes:

  1. If approved seventy-five (75%) of payment will be paid directly to the company after the Small Business has paid their twenty-five percent (25%)
  2. Travel costs are excluded.
  3. Businesses are required to submit an after summary and the impact statement. Failure to submit will invalidate businesses from receiving future grant.
